This might work for the Rays if they believe Triantos can handle 2B defense.

Sounds like the Rays plan to keep Diaz now. Not sure if this would blow them away enough to make a move. Wiggins is a good prospect and Triantos could win a batting title if he hits his ceiling. I find the system down on the Cubs generally. Seiya Suzuki "3?" Taillon with negative value? I wanted Diaz to flip to the Twins but starting to think the Cubs should go after Hoffman as a starter and keep the prospects.

I wouldn’t worry too much about who the Rays say they will and won’t trade. Everyone is generally available at all times, but there are guys they will only trade for a really good return and then guys they are looking to dump for one reason or another. Diaz and B.Lowe fall into the former category. I think you’re right on the Cubs system though. Whether it’s overall quality or just system fit, I struggle to find good trades between the Rays and Cubs.
