I like this for the Brewers. Even though they just signed Anderson, Diaz could play 3B/1B (against LH) and Andeerson could move to super utility. Finnegan would be welcome in the pen. I'm not sure the Nats would go for it though.

I'm on the fence for the Rays. Diaz was the Rays' best bat in 2022 and they are already in need of more offense. Trading Diaz makes a bad situation worse. There is also the problem of what this trade means for J.Lowe. Rays have a solid 4 outfielders right now in Aroz, Siri, Margot and J.Lowe (with their DH (H.Ramirez) also being an outfielder). I doubt the Rays add another outfielder without trading one of their existing outfielders, so unless the Rays are about to move Aroz (a rumor that has circulated all offseason), I think this trade is unlikely. That said, Mitchell is an intriguing prospect. He looked good in his 2022 call up and has the potential to be an every day player. With Diaz only have 2 years of control remaining, it would definitely be a Rays' like move to swap Diaz for Mitchell. Ultimately, I think it's a year too early to move Diaz.
