About Yoeilin Cespedes, Physical Description: Smaller, compact frame. Above-average athlete, has some remaining projection. Hit: Quick wrists, compact swing. Does not get cheated and really whips the bat through the zone. Good approach for his age. Excellent eye-hand coordination and bat control. Will expand the zone. Potential above-average hit tool. Power: Solid-average raw power with the potential for more as he fills out. Already producing solid exit velocities and hard-hit rates for his age. Power is primarily to the pull side right now. Run: Average speed. Field: Will start at shortstop but may need to move to second base, third base, or perhaps even corner outfield eventually. Arm: Average arm strength. Passable at short, solid for second base. Summation: High variance prospect who is already showing substantial tools and upside. Was one of the most advanced hitters in the DSL in 2023 with scouts expressing confidence in his long-term offensive upside.
