About Enderso Lira, Physical Description: Athletic, projectable frame. Looks the part. Has room to physically mature. Hit: Starts open with his hands high. Quiet pre-swing. Simple, short, direct swing mechanics. Toe-tap timing device. Selective, knows the strike zone. Slow bat. Power: Fringe-average raw power. Swing is more geared for line drives than over-the-fence power right now. Hits the ball hard. As he adds strength, power potential could increase. Run: Below-average speed. Not a major part of his game. Field: Moves well behind the plate. Solid defensive profile. Arm: Above-average to better arm strength. Could improve to plus as he adds strength and physically matures. Summation: High-variance catching prospect with considerable upside. Has all the tools you look for in a catching prospect of his age, but is a long way from actualizing them. Lot of development remaining. Present value is all about projecting what happens in the future as he physically matures. https://www.soxprospects.com/players/lira-enderso.htm

About Yoeilin Cespedes, Physical Description: Smaller, compact frame. Above-average athlete, has some remaining projection. Hit: Quick wrists, compact swing. Does not get cheated and really whips the bat through the zone. Good approach for his age. Excellent eye-hand coordination and bat control. Will expand the zone. Potential above-average hit tool. Power: Solid-average raw power with the potential for more as he fills out. Already producing solid exit velocities and hard-hit rates for his age. Power is primarily to the pull side right now. Run: Average speed. Field: Will start at shortstop but may need to move to second base, third base, or perhaps even corner outfield eventually. Arm: Average arm strength. Passable at short, solid for second base. Summation: High variance prospect who is already showing substantial tools and upside. Was one of the most advanced hitters in the DSL in 2023 with scouts expressing confidence in his long-term offensive upside. Defensive future is a bit murkier; likely will have to be moved off shortstop eventually, but will be developed there for as long as possible. Very exciting prospect who has the chance to fly up the system rankings with a solid stateside debut. https://www.soxprospects.com/players/cespedes-yoeilin.htm
