No clue if either team would do this, but it makes some sense on paper. TOR is losing Hernandez, Gurriel, Merrifield, and Chapman to FA after the season. Freeman can compete for a bench role this year and then compete for the starting 2B role next year. Jones is much needed LHH power and can play a COF or 3B. They could slide easily into the RF hole left by Hernandez this year, and they could move to 3B next year if they wanted. Civale adds another good option to their starting pitching. I certainly think they are a bit worse offensively, but a bit better likely in the rotation with this move, and it gives them a good LHH power bat that they desperately need. It's also a lot of control. 15 years for like 3, that's very lopsided. CLE trading from depth and acquires some much needed power and a better C

Cleveland would do it instantly or at least they should. I'm not sure if this satisfies the Blue Jays or not though. I just don't know what they need outside of a SP or 2.

Toronto needs pitching - starters and especially bullpen.

Maybe they would be interested in Morris then instead of Freeman. Maybe Karinchak if CLE thought they could deal from BP depth at all.

Earlier I posted a Jansen for Karinchak one for one trade. I would think we have the young pitching to find more bullpen pieces.
