5I don’t think the team is currently constructed to trade for 1 year of Helsley
You may be right, but Bowden has them in on Carlos Estevez,3/$33M; Jeff Hoffman 3/$27M; or Clay Holmes 2/$18.5M. As a Card fan, I've watched multi year reliever contracts, my personal fav disaster is Brett Cecil, go down the drain more than half a dozen times. This just costs ya'll a couple of middling prospects and his Arb $.
I meant middling with you guys having Anthony, Montgomery & Garcia. You guys have serious OF depth in MiLB.
I don’t see or view these two like that, Sandlin should get his chance in the show this year, Bleis needs a good kick in the you no what and to get serious. That being said, I do like Helsley and if Breslow & Company get other pieces first I’d probably be ok with this. He’d make a nice possible extension candidate.
Miguel Bleis is NOT a "middling prospect." That said, the Red Sox need a much better bullpen to contend in 2025. They have a glut of outfielders, and I suspect that Bleis would thrive in the Cards' system. Good trade.
