The Cubs have a strong farm system but their excess doesn't match well with the A's, especially if they're asking for Mason Miller. Owen Caissie has nearly 800 productive PA in AAA but he's not going to unseat Soderstrom, Butler, Rooker, or Kurtz. Rojas is an interesting MI prospect but with the A's focusing on being competitive now, a High-A guy isn't going to be very appealing. Miami could be interested in these young hitters. The A's could pair Alcantara with Severino to anchor the rotation for the rest of this year and next. The team was interested in Noble Meyer in the '23 Draft but went with Jacob Wilson instead. Normally, a guy like Meyer wouldn't be available in a deal like this but he was a Kim Ng draft pick and maybe Wiggins would appeal to Peter Bendix.
