1Very unlikely trade-but throwing it out there. This applies ONLY if the Royals decide to sell. They are only 2.5 games behind in a very competitive wildcard race. So they may be looking to add instead. With the added excitement of Jac Castiglione on the team now. Yankees get a long term 3B (while keeping Lombard) and a #3 starter for the playoffs. Schmidt/Gil is a hell of a #4. Lugo only makes $15 million AAV (so like $6 million by trade deadline) and is an expiring. Royals may feel that Garcia is untouchable which is completely fair. Do the trade for Lugo only then. Or maybe I am completely off base on this one.
