5Up vote for the A's. I think this is correct in principle but the arms don't quite match the traits the A's have been acquiring recently. I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Jennings (1.8 BTV) is an A's target based on the fastball and a track record of solid enough Command when he was in the rotation.
ππΌββοΈ Grover, any have issues with the idea of trading a player so soon after an extension or is this the return that includes the high level pitching that could maybe get yourself over it if Ryan Jennings was added in place of one of these two? π€
I have many issues with trading players after signing them to extensions/multi-year FA contracts. But... Severino has gone from having legitimate gripes to (IMO) whining about a situation that he knowingly signed up for. He got 3 years/$67 MM guaranteed with a Player option after 2026; it's a deal that heavily favored the player. If he really wants out then he should no-hit the Yankees today and get contenders bidding for him.
Heck of a good plan by Severino, get the Aβs to overpay to get you in town, then complain until they ship you out having secured the free agent overpay commitment. π€
Only if he pitches well enough to attract buyers at the deadline. He failed to take my advice vs. the Yankees.
