4Guards can upgrade their offense and the Astros reduce their crowded infield
Where does Paredes play in Cleveland? 3B is taken and all of the ABs at 1B and DH are essentially planned out...
He's played 2nd before, trading Arias frees up that space for him. He also could DH. Rochio and Fry don't have locked down positions so I feel like they can be moved around. The guards need offense and this trade is one way of getting it. They were willing to pay Gimenez 15 million a season a few years ago. Paredes is within that range and can play multiple spots to help the offense.
Issues with this... Rocchio is horrible at 3B and has never played in the OF, Rocchio would be traded before Arias... Rocchio is 2B or SS while Arias can play anywhere in the INF and has played RF... They publicly stated they wouldn't trade/sign for a veteran that plays 2B... They aren't blocking Bazzana... When it comes to DH... Manzardo is a bad 1B defensively... Plus they are super high on Kayfus who plays 1B/LF/RF... I get the want for his bat, but he doesn't play a spot that I believe Cleveland brass will trade for...
