CLE puts Marte in CF, moves Luplow to RF, Naylor to 1B. They clear roster crunch space for December by removing 3 guys and only getting 1 back. ARI has a weak INF system and a very strong OF. Jones + Arias + Rodriguez get added to that weak INF system, Bradley can DH next year, and Hankins is a solid pitching prospect that ARI can develop

I just got done lurking over at CTC and saw this proposal ha! I'm on board, Arias is promising but mostly infield insurance at this point, Jones is prime trade bait if we entrench Ramirez/Naylor/Luplow everyday at the positions he'd be a candidate for, Hankins is still a few years away, and Bradley and GRod are minor pieces. I like a lot of our prospects and there might be some in there we regret, but at some point we'll need to flip them for positions of need. This achieves that while still keeping the farm core of Valera, Freeman, Rocchio, Bo Naylor, and Espino intact.

HARD PASS by the Indians.. the fundamental building blocks for a team that competes year after year after year after year requires they keep and develop their prospect volume..

they could make this trade, still have a great system, and they get a guy for 4 years. They have one of the deepest system in the league outside of Tampa they also need to turn their glut of INF talent into OF talent. Ramirez and Gimenez are already taking up 2 of the 3 spots in the INF. They have Freeman, Rocchio, Miller, Bracho all coming up in the next 1-2 years vying for 2B and UTIL spots. Jones, Arias and Rodriguez would make that 7 guys. They don't fit. ARI is the perfect trade partner because they have a cost controlled CF a system ripe with OF talent a system that desperately needs INF talent

I think this would be a good trade for both teams. Marte would immediately become CF for the indians. Have to disagree, as the prospects they are trading are good, but not fundamental. Jones - Blocked by Ramirez Rodriguez/Arias - SS blocked by other top prospects and Gimenez at MLB level Hankins could be helpful, just because he is a pitcher, but the Indians have so much pitching, that he is not needed. Bradley has potential, and he is likely to be their long term 1B, so maybe swap him out. However I still think the Indians would be thrilled with the opportunity to make this trade.

i added bradley because if they put Marte in CF, Luplow is moving to RF, which pushes Naylor to 1B long term

Not a terrible idea for these 2 teams to help each other. I'm a Cleveland fan so there is certainly some bias. Having said that, Jones is not viewed as a 3B. He's been getting reps at 1B and the corner OF. With E. Rosario coming off the books after this season I would expect either Naylor or Jones to take over LF duties(I think Naylor) while the other is the 1B. I'm not coming off of Arias. If something like this had to happen then Rocchio or Bracho would go before Arias. They have higher values here anyway. Hankins has TOR written all over him, but I would use him in a package for Marte. Marte would be a wonderful acquisition for Cleveland, but the future is bright regardless if Ketel joins the club or not. I didn't vote on this trade because I think there is a means to get a deal done, just not this one.
