6Real trade. Thanks for posting. Accepted as fair by our model.
Not a fair deal. The brewers gave up Renfroe for some junk.
I mean, they literally did get Junk... All puns and joking aside... This moved isn't out of the ordinary for a small market team who btw 4 of their top 10 prospects being OF who saw time at AAA in 22, two who got some MLB time. Junk isn't great, but would be in/at the Brewers 20th ranked prospect (at least via MLB.com) so they didn't get just nothing back for a rental in Renfroe. Brewers took the best offer, which tells you the market for Renfroe wasn't great. The equation they use here said Seminaris is better, though I don't know enough about them to say one way or the other.
Lol. Why would the Brewers do this though? Renfroe has been one of their best players over the last two years.
Smaller market team equals small budget plus a bunch of OF prospects. Brewers rarely keep rentals if they have prospects near MLB in that position. On paper he was expendable and this gets them three minor league arms to add depth to their organization that way...
I agree that he makes the most sense, outside of Wong, to deal if you need to shed salary. Tyrone Taylor can replicate these numbers at a cheaper price. I also like targeting pitching, as we have a bare cupboard in the minors. I would just rather have quality over quantity, as none of the guys really have upside.
