Spikes

Considering the Brewers need starting pitching a lot more then another OF, then I think they would ask for Eduardo Rodriguez and a prospect instead of Benintendi. Depending on the prospects value, this actually reduces the total value they get per this trade site. However, the additional starting pitcher fills a Brewers need and just may be enough to trade Hader. Maybe!!!

I just don't know if the Red Sox wants to give up two SP. They also will need an OF to replace Braun and you can play Braun some at 1B. Also Rodriguez has one less year of control.

Spikes

Yeah, it would be tough to give up both pitchers unless the Red Sox want to get rid of Evoldi's contract. Reports say Boston does want to cut salary to get under the tax penalty. I know the Brewers wouldn't be happy carrying that contract either but would do so to facilitate the trade because of the other players they're getting. As far as needing an OF, that can wait till next year and/or pick up someone like Dickerson this year if they want Braun to play 1B. However if they get Chavis in this trade, they hopefully will have their first baseman.

This trade would effectively end Boston’s season. The CBA has some clause in it for “super performers” or some name that sounds like the clause was written by a 6 year old. That clause allows certain players to have their arbitration demands compared to the best players at their position regardless of service time. This means Hader can ask for Aroldis Chapman money and the arbitrator has to consider the request valid. This clause is likely why Milwaukee wants to move Hader. And also why Hader could make more money than Eovaldi. So this trade could push Boston further over the limit and create three more holes the Red Sox have to fill with even less money.

I could also see Milwaukee trading lutz instead of hader plus a couple pieces to get this package besides benintendi

Cole signing with the Yankees pretty much ended Boston's season.

Notin: I am not aware of this clause and evidently MLBTR, Baseball-Reference, Fangraphs, and the Brewers website also isn't aware of this clause. All estimate that Hader will have an arbitration figure of around $4.7M. Please give your source for the CBA clause that you refer too.
