Is this stupid? Yes. But the Mariners and Cards have been linked for a pitcher/ infielder trade, and this added on makes sense. Dodgers get Arenado & Montgomery to finish out their crazy deadline already. Mariners get a bullpen piece and their next middle infielder to bat lefty. Cards retool & still compete. Taylor can be a flexible piece on the diamond, and France can step in anywhere for a few years. The big piece here is they pull in 4 young future starters. Woo immediately jumps in the rotation, alongside Hancock. They also get 2 top 10 Dodgers pitchers, which can help bolster the farm and can be their next pieces of the rotation down the line.
