1The Blue Jays have stated they could use a right-handed bat who can crush left-sided pitching and the 2023 Lane Thomas is hitting southpaws at a .385 clip with considerable power. He's hitting an all-around .290 in the pitching-rich NL East so facing the formidable arms in the AL East won't scare him. But Toronto and DC don't make for ideal trade partners as the Blue Jays don't have quality pitching depth at AA or AAA other than the unavailable Tiedemann. The Canadian outfit's farm is heavy on the power bats and Barger could be a good all-around 3B/RF if he makes more contact. Horowitz's discerning eye and genuine thunder are attributes which are very scarce in the Nationals high minors. Horowitz could well be the starting 1B for the '24 Nats. Zulueta's more than a throw-in here, there's potential to be a highly effective late-innings presence with possible starter stuff.
