Brewers should be able to do much better for Burnes. Abel looks to be over rated. If you cherry pick stats anybody can look better than what they really are. Abel has to much to prove before Milwaukee would even consider trading Burnes for him as the major part of the package. Crouse is a lottery ticket and the very last thing the Brewers would want is another prospect OF (Wilson). Bohm doesn't improve the Brewers enough to be worth a major portion of this deal. Milwaukee would want much better pitching when they trade Burnes.

He’s the 46th ranked prospect in baseball dude what are you talking about.

And also, Wilson and Crouse are just throw ins. Swap them out with anyone under 2 value and that would do.

Spikes

I think you have made a good trade proposal that could work for both teams. I think Bohm is a hitter the Brewers can use and also has some years of control. If the Brewers front office also consider Abel as a top prospect, then this trade could be made. As you mentioned, any other players considered in this trade can be worked out to the satisfaction of both teams. I understand Jmont1's desire for "better pitching" but any team like the Phillies that need a quality pitcher like Burnes is not going to want to give back good MLB pitching in return. I think if the Brewers trade Burnes, this is the type of offer they would need to seriously consider. The Brewers may have to get additional pitching help from another trade.

Brewers: Brewers traded Hader last year while he had the same amount of control as Burnes has now, so they may want to capitalize on his high value now before they have to pay him. The would be getting a haul, starting with the biggest piece, Mick Abel. Abel is the 46th ranked prospect in the sport, and the 6th ranked right handed pitcher in the minors. When you look at his ERA, you might say that he’s overrated, but when you look at his game logs, he had 1 outing when he gave up 9 runs, and one outing when he gave up 6 runs, outside of that he has been phenomenal. They’d also be getting Alec Bohm. Bohm is a controllable young good third baseman, who has shown serious signs of upside with his bat. He also typically heats up in the summer time, so if his numbers don’t look particularly sexy now, that might change in September. They’d also be getting Ethan Wilson, a second round pick who has performed really well this year, and Hans Crouse, a guy who has struggled a lot this year but was a top prospect in the Phils system in 2022. For Milwaukee, I can’t see them getting a better return than this for Burnes. Phillies side: With Aaron Nola hitting free agency, the Phillies might struggle with high end pitching next year, and Burnes would certainly help out. I don’t need to talk about how he’s elite, we already know that. This would give them the ability to move on from Nola and the rotation wouldn’t take a hit at all, in fact it would probably improve from how it was previously with Nola. Giving up Bohm would hurt a lot, but if they can make another deal to acquire a third baseman, I think they should pull the trigger on this. And also giving up Abel would certainly hurt, but the Phillies have shown promising signs when it comes to developing pitchers recently, so I think I would trust them to draft and develop a guy that is potentially as good as Abel.
