My only question is why do we need Burger.....we have an All-Star 3B and Ozuna is one of our hottest hitters right at DH

I think I’d rather keep Kopech & Burger and trade Cease for a stronger pitching return then Anderson

The White Sox have zero SP depth and 3/5 of the rotation will (likely) be FAs. I really don't see either of their controllable starters being moved midseason.

I like this trade for the White Sox, but I really hate it for the Braves. Anderson is kind of a long shot at this point, but he still has a pretty good ceiling. Grissom is a great choice for the Sox as a replacement for Tim (once he hits free agency). On the other hand, this return really makes no sense for the Braves. They have nowhere to play Burger with Olson at 1st, Riley at 3rd, and Ozuna and others at DH. While he's great and has 5 full seasons before free agency, he fits nowhere on the Braves and he's too good to be a bench bat. Kopech makes more sense, but I still don't like the fit since the Braves have a plethora of young arms coming up.

It’s not a horrible trade, but the problem is that the Braves have no need for Jake Burger with Austin Riley playing 3rd and Marcell Ozuna playing well at DH. Basically you are giving up a solid young infielder for a back of the rotation starter.

I can see the White Sox trying to move a Burger for a young SS. But not with Atlanta.

I'm a Braves fan and I'm also no fan of this trade proposal. It appears that there are more people voting for it, on both sides, and I'm curious to know why. I like Michael Kopech ok. I think his recent hot streak's a sign of good things to come. I'd rather see my favorite team trade for him over Lucas Giolito, who's valued by this site at about 50% more. As my fellow Braves fan, gfaith, also commented, how and why would Burger be a fit there? I just don't see a way to make logical sense of it. I think he's good. I think he'd be a good return for a team that needs an up and coming thirdbaseman. The Braves don't have a need at that position and therefore it's not a good match. I would love to read comments from fans who are in favor of this trade proposal because I'm always interested in learning from people who are thinking about the same things as me, but in different ways.

You really don't want Burger playing 3B either. He's a 1B/DH through and through.
