If the Yankee fans don't like Josh Donaldson and the Braves fans don't like Marcell Ozuna, then let's have this sort of deal. I like Donaldson and don't like Ozuna. And this is my trade proposal! Donaldson is the DH in Hot-lanta and I hope he's worth keeping around for 2024. Vaughn Grissom maybe goes to AAA if it's a roster crunch or maybe he takes to LF and splits time there. I think the Yankees saw something in Isiah Kiner-Falela last year and they did give him $6MM this year ... and he wasn't that bad. But I think Volpe is much better. The "wretches refuse on your teeming shores"could be ok in Atlanta. I'd rather the $27MM for Donaldson and Kiner-Falefa in 2023 for the Braves rather than 2 years for $32MM with Ozuna ... but for that difference New York lands Ian Anderson who's young, controllable and upside, though it's a puzzle. I think Victor Vodka could be a Carson Cistulli-type Fringe Five. And Cistulli was right about a lot of guys! Darius Vines too is good, I like the peripherals. Feeling a little gun shy on guys w/o a big fastball, but still dreaming on him. The cash added is just to make it more of an even trade. This trade throws Vaughn Grissom into the deep end with a life preserver and not much else. It takes away a good SS defender from the Bronx as well as a decent depth bat. Ozuna's no replacement there. The help is in the AAA SP depth that I think the Yankees could use. The trade's a totally "what if" idea and just fun for me to think of a way to escape having to watch Ozuna, get a guy I like, and it all happens because I think the Yankees could use some AAA depth that I think the Braves can risk selling on for this price.
