the way i see it is the twins get a much needed bullpen arm for at least this year (assuming he settles in arbitration) for a solid AA prospect, a decent young bullpen arm with 6 years of control, and a lefty outfielder the rays could use in the lineup instead of siri

The problem though is the Rays traded their best LHRP earlier this offseason because they had 1 too many LHRP, and I don't think they'll want to add a lesser LHRP at this point. Kepler makes no sense for the Rays while they have Margot, who is about as expensive as Kepler and provides similar above average defense in COF with a borderline league average bat. Canterino isn't a particularly exciting arm, as he's at best a 4/5 starter and probably just a MIRP. So at the end of the day, this trade doesn't really help the Rays now or in the future, but it does cost them their (arguably) best reliever. Now, if the Twins were trading Arraez to the Rays, that might be something that would interest the Rays (even if they had to contribute more value). Another possibility would be high upside prospects like Rodriguez and Prielipp. The point is, if the Twins want to add a high leverage reliever making peanuts, they need to send the Rays high quality/upside players in return.
