I like it for all 3 teams. Its a big hit to the dodgers farm system, but honestly they have so many that are currently blocked it might be good to condense it a little.

temporary account

This Cleveland fan say no thank you. With the cost of bad pitching this offseason, I am not trading Cleveland's top 3 pitching prospects or Espino, Williams, or Bibee.

JoshL10

More/better offense means less need for pitching for the Guards. As of now, Bibee isn't even slated to be part of the pitching plan in 2023 (rotation or bullpen).

I agree with JMF. The Guards aren't gonna stick their nose in a trade if they have to give one of their top prospects up, unless it's something wild. They easily have the capital for a Reynolds deal and they could've gotten Murphy if they wanted him, but they like their guys and want to keep 'em. Bibee is already on a lot of top-100 lists, he'll probably be a consensus top 50 by the end of the season. Even if they don't need him this year, Bieber's contract is running out, Plesac and Civale will be out the door too, and Quantrill could also be traded. I think the Guards stand pat here

BigBat

Actually, you're wrong. If they deal either/both of Civale and Plesac then don't be surprised if Bibee starts the season with the Guardians. Not likely, but he'll be up by the break. Bibee has more value than Vargas regardless of what is listed here which will change soon. With all the turnover soon to happen in Cleveland's rotation, Bibee's value is amplified to the Guardians' FO. Would love to see Cleveland get Stone though.

GILLIGANIAN83

so you keep bibee, we'll swap out rushing for leonard and call it a day

How about keeping Cleveland out of it entirely.

Cleveland isn't likely trading Straw (he signed a contract extension last season, and they have never traded a guy with a contract extension in year two of one and never will) plus Karinchak and Bibee aren't really available... Now, If Cleveland gets in, it would be way smaller and it would be something more on the lines of Valera going for Vargas...

Another edition of Reynolds to the Dodgers... Dodgers get Reynolds while also somehow staying under/somewhere near the luxury tax. Reynolds replaces Bellinger in CF and he is actually way cheaper than him as well (6.75 million this season). They also get a high leverage back of the pen guy in James Karinchak, who can replace Daniel Hudson and Craig Kimbrel for a whole lot cheaper. Tanner Bibee helps replenish the farm a little bit, as they are losing quite a few top guys in this trade. 3 million cash from the pirates helps with the lux tax and a draft pick from the guardians helps because we don't have a first round pick this year. Guardians upgrade their offense with Miguel Vargas who is able to play 1B, 3B, OF and even some 2B. He gives their lineup a big boost that it lacked in 2021. Getting rid of straw will also help that offense, as he was atrocious at the plate. Daulton Rushing gives them a really good catching prospect that can help relieve some of the pressure on Bo Naylor. Guardians have options in CF (maybe call up Rocchio and move Rosario to CF)? Pirates receive two top 100 pitching prospects in Ryan Pepiot and Gavin Stone. Both are MLB ready and should be big contributors to them this coming season. They also receive speedy OFer Myles Straw, who can be the stopgap until Andy Pages is ready to take over in CF for them. (Likely in 2024 sometime). Finally Daniel Hudson gives them a veteran presence on a very young team. Thoughts?

I was messing around with the trade simulator and it wouldn't allow this trade to go through, which I think is closer to reality if you wanted Cleveland in the deal... Dodgers get Reynolds Guardians get Vargas Pirates get Valera, Stone, Pepiot, Knack, Palacios Numbers match up, but this would be way closer to how I could see it going down. To get it to work though Miller may have to go instead of Stone, which makes it even more complicated...

BigBat

I'd rather have what the Pirates are getting. That is 3 top 100 prospects, a very good SP prospect in Knack who very well might end up in the top 100 soon and a young, inexpensive LFer with a good bat. That's a vast overpay for Reynolds.

That's probably what it would take to get Reynolds... They want pitching back for Reynolds.
