4Rays aren't trading Glasnow before the season begins. They just extended him and he's arguably their best pitcher (McClanny is pretty damn good too). However, if they did want to trade him, they wouldn't want the headliner in the return to only have 2 years of control.
The rays need a bat the have Mclanahan, Baz, Springs, Eflin and more … they went all of last season without him … not to mention the 2 teams have previous trade history
If the Rays want a bat (and I agree that they should get one), they have a deep farm to draw from for potential trades. Trading their best pitcher doesn't make sense if the goal is to win the World Series. The Rays will make the playoffs, with or without another bat. They want to win it all, and that requires dominant pitching in the playoffs. Besides, O'Neill barely qualifies as a "bat". He has one good year at the plate. He's a good enough player of course, but the Rays don't need his defense with Siri in CF and Margot on the team. They need a better bat than he has.
LOL... Why would anyone give this post a thumbs down?
