3I hope the Rays say no. Brash has no control. Kelenic can't hit. Maybe that changes for one or both in year 2 of their major league careers, but maybe it doesn't. Better to keep one of the Rays' best relievers and their best bat (if healthy). There is no replacing a healthy Lowe on the Rays' budget, but the Rays can turn out good pitchers (which Brash ain't) and COFs who can't hit all day long.
I feel like Kelenic and Brash's past pedigree might make the Rays interested. The Rays tend to get the most out of players, especially guys that have maybe lost favor in their prior spots (think Isaac Paredes). I'm not saying Kelenic or Brash aren't wanted by SEA, but to me, they fit the bill of guys they'd want to add.
I agree with that. Trading B.Lowe is the problem. When healthy, he’s unquestionably the Rays’ best bat and the straw that stirs their offensive drink. Without him in 2022, the Rays scored almost 200 fewer runs than in 2021 and fell from the #2 scoring offense to the #14. Just like the Yankees are a shit offense without Judge, the Rays are a shit offense without B.Lowe. Unlike the Yankees though, the Rays can’t hope to remotely replace B.Lowe on their budget.
