6This is a terrible trade for CLE. If Espino can get healthy (admittedly a big if), he's probably the #1 pitching prospect in the minors. They aren't going to trade him for a rental
Makes sense but #1 pitching prospect in the minors feels like a stretch over skenes, painter (he hurt rn) horton
Going into this year before he got hurt, consensus on Espino was that he was the clear #1 prospect in CLE's system and a top 25-35ish prospect overall. He has a legit 80 grade fastball and 70 grade slider. From a pure stuff perspective, he could absolutely be the top pitching prospect. IRL, I would lean towards Skenes, partially because he hasn't recently suffered a major arm injury
Thanks for letting me know cuz i was looking at the top 100 list saw a prospect in the 80s that was a pitcher which the sox need and said lets work a trade for it
Oh im not really good with the prospects outside the top 50
To be sincere, Cleveland really doesn't have a lot of interest in Verdugo and Cleveland refused to trade Espino in trade and now they aren't going to trade him at a low value like 14.... Cleveland, for better or for worse, is going to keep Espino and see if they can get him back to form. It's extremely unlikely they move him for anyone in 24. It's still very possible he makes his MLB debut in the second half of 24...
