1ARI: In addition to adding some depth for the back of the rotation with German, the Snakes add two bullpen arms (while subtracting another). German is nothing special, but a 4.37 ERA career ERA (3.61 in '22) has value when It means getting innings eaten. While German isn't known as a workhorse, he can give you 5 IP each time out and when you have an unsettled rotation - that's a help. Mantiply is obviously the best pitcher in the deal, but Weissert tore up triple-A hitters last year, striking out 70 over 48 innings with a 1.69 ERA & 0.90 WHIP. Trivino, meanwhile, had a rough year with the A's, but turned it around in NY -- pitching to a 1.66 ERA & 1.29 WHIP after the trade. Trivino has also shown his worth with decent campaigns in '18, '20, & '21. NYY: Mantiply is a really good lefty. That's basically the whole reason to get him. Gives the Yanks another LHP alongside Wandy (and potentially Luetge) in the 'pen.
