I think this makes a ton of sense for the Pirates, they get their blue-chipper as an org that doesn't really have any future superstars. But I could see the Braves opting to go cheaper instead, maybe moving a couple of their arms for a Raisel Iglesias or Ken Giles type instead.

I assume you mean cheaper from a prospect price, correct? The Nightmare's contract is just insanely inexpensive, which I believe inflates his value even more (so does striking out Grandal, Yelich, and Moose on 13 pitches last night :)). But from a prospect perspective, I agree.. that's why I think the other one I posed makes more sense. Ideally, I think that San Diego and Atlanta are the two teams that make the most sense for Vasquez if the Pirates decide to blow it up. They have the organizational depth to entice Pittsburgh and Vasquez's contract lines up nicely w/ their respective windows.

Yes, I meant cheaper prospect cost - my bad if that wasn't clear! I also wouldn't be surprised if the Pirates demanded Pache in any Vazquez deal. There isn't a lot of pressure to trade him now, they've got plenty of time to do it. I could also see the Dodgers as a really solid fit, given their bullpen issues in recent years.
