This will never happen. The Rays won't pay this much for Brash. But he is king stud dick, and should be anchoring a rotation, not pitching the 7th and 8th inning. With 3 plus pitches, he'd likely make an excellent SP. This solves the Rays rotation problem, and a Raley/Mead platoon at 1B would make the loss of Diaz bearable.
Yeah, the Rays would never do this but it would solve a lot of problems. I’m not a fan of Clase though. Substitute Celesten for Clase and I’m down with this trade.

Clase is very much a Rays guy. Toolsy middle of the field player that switch hits with elite speed but needs seasoning. Sounds like Siri, GWhitley, Brujan, Meadows, XEdwards...even Randy.
I see the 40 grade arm, 45 grade power, and the 30% K rate and .727 OPS in AA, and I think I’d prefer someone else in the return. Rays have enough AAAA outfielders.
First time in his career he wasn't the best hitter on his team was when he was promoted to AA as a verrrrry young 21 year old after demolishing A+ as a 20 year old. He hit 20 HR as a 20/21 year old in A+ and AA. Obviously his 45 grade power was wrong, but what wasn't wrong was his 80 grade speed, because he stole 80 bags. I would be very excited to have Clase as a Ray. 99% of MLB prospects have ceilings. Clase has no ceiling. 30 HR-80 SB is doable 3 years from now. Probably won't happen, but there's only a few players in all of MLB or MiLB that are capable of it. Clase is one of them.
I still prefer Celesten.
