3The Pods can free up $40m in salary and add three young, cheap options to their rotation. Cubs can toss in Preciado and/or Mena for sweeteners. AJ has a history of re-acquiring players.
After this trade, the Cubs’ 40 man roster would be at 38, leaving just enough room to add Ohtani and Yamamoto.
I like the trade and the free agent plan. Yamamoto is my #1 Cubs target.
