3I know Quantrill's value is low, but I'd rather watch him walk away for nothing than stoop low enough to accept this deal. Sometimes, something is not better than nothing.
Certainly you can view it like that. I am thinking from Colorado perspective, they are minimally paying for opportunity to nab Quantrill at reasonable salary instead of bidding war in Free Agency. Rockies sorely need pitching. I know many previous proposals on this site were opposed by Cleveland fans as 'not enough' for him. Their takes look suspect in retrospect. But that's irrelevant. Maybe Cleveland posters with 'front office scoop' are embarrassed? BTW, the Colorado offering is a non-Draft 5 prospect with upside. A lottery ticket. I disagree with this being 'nothing is better than something' evaluation. So I am saying I think this is okay offer. Maybe Colorado thinks its too much ?!!?
BigBat...Real trade just happened and this was close guess. Cleveland added small valued C and Colorado got Quantrill at ARB salary with another year possible. I think good trade as Cleveland got something. Sorry for 'crowing' a little but rarely get one this close to correct. Still looking for RH RF like you are.
