4I think Brown alone gets the deal done. Two vets for a prospect, a la Baez and Williams for PCA. Wiggins is too good for a throw-in. No one is gonna offer a better pitching prospect than Brown to Rays for one year of Glasnow. Few teams can take on $35 million (includes Margot) in salary. Cubs shouldn't bid against themselves.
I like the idea of Brown headling a Glas trade, but I don’t like Margot being included and driving down the return. I think the Rays will trade Glas in a stand-alone deal and will receive an overpay to his BTV value given basic supply and demand principles. Rays pass on this trade.
Say you’re correct. Then Rays eat salary on any Margot transaction. Doesn’t fit with their m.o. imo.
They ate some salary on Longo. I think they’ll eat some on Margot too. We will see.
