1In Max Fried, the Braves have one of baseball's ace-level starters, albeit the contract's expired by this time next year. Getting back another Max, Max Kepler, does make some sense because the team has a spot to improve in LF and he's a lefty. However, Kepler's mostly a league-average hitter coming off a good 2023 season and paired with Kikuchi who's also been pedestrian with a good 2023, it's just not enticing enough for me, as a Braves fan, to be excited about trading away Fried. I feel like the Braves are predicting Fried to be great in 2024 and the quality of the return should reflect this. It does not. I'd do Kepler for Vaughn Grissom though. :)
