2Never happen. Schwellenbach is too far away and Cleveland doesn't have the SP depth to deal Bieber without another ready SP or 2 coming back. They can come back in separate deals, but if that's the case then a ready RHH OFer will need to be the return in a Bieber deal.
I agree that the Guardians probably have a priority of a starting pitcher coming back if they trade away Shane Bieber. I don't see Lucas Giolito wearing a Cleveland jersey any time soon. I'm thinking for the 2024 rotation it's Bieber, Tristan McKenzie, Logan Allen (who I like a lot), Tanner Bibee (who I like for his upside) and who? I'm not in on Gavin Williams. Why trade away Bieber unless it's a trade that slays for CLE? I'm lukewarm on Spencer Schwellenbach. 2024 Guardians aren't a team that's piling pitching prospects. Care to convince me otherwise? Or is it that you think Schwellenbach's ready? As a Braves fan, it's fun to dream about trading an A-ball player into an immediate-impact ML pitcher, especially one that has had "ace level" success in recent years. If that's all this trade proposal is, then it's a good one. I'm wondering if there's a bit more to it. Is there?
