So, I just noticed that Alcantara, because he's out for the year with TJS, and likely that '25 is still a ramp-up season, his value is way down. If the Braves look to the future, hoping he can contribute in late '25 through '27 (assuming they pick up the option), then getting Cabrera as a 3/4 for now, while also grabbing two OF prospects, for the cost of Grissom and Elder seems likable from the Braves' side of the equation. The Braves have room on the 40-man for Mesa and Myers, so no worries about this trade causing problems for the 40-man roster by taking on two extra players. For the Marlins, how desperate are they for adding some offense to their thin lineup? Would they want Ozuna thrown in there as well (assuming the Braves cover part of his salary)? I tried to do a 3-team swap that had Ozuna going to the Marlins and Eloy Jimenez going to the Braves, but that got too messy. Likewise, the Marlins could just try to grab Eloy themselves. Comically, Fangraphs has Josh Bell as the leading WAR contributor at 1B and also at DH. That's a lineup in need of some hitters.

Don't forget Alcantara has most complaint games sent his joining mlb 13 . not type guy you give up on. with 4 years left and has more value than Bryce Elder in miami . i don't see the Braves wanting to lose Bryce Elder . marlins have to be in a win now mood to make this trade. but love the idea of Vaughn Grissom as a marlins member. and Victor Mesa Jr. an his brother on the braves

It probably won't happen because, judging from recent moves, the Braves front office appears to have lost their patience with injured pitchers.

Marlins are not dealing pitchers now because they don't know about Alcantra,Myers,Rogers yet.
