Rays would never do this. This trade leaves too much value on the table (basically giving away Glasnow), swaps 3 players for only 5 (Rays generally trade their most valuable players in 1 for 3-5 player trades), and the main headliner coming back to the Rays is valued like a starter even though he pitches in relief and might not transition to starting all that well. Way too risky for the Rays at a $40MM valuation. Rays say no.

Well I included Brash specifically because he is the kind of guy the Rays could look at and see as a starter and really like. Also the Rays get a decent catcher and another promising arm as well as two guys with potential one of whom they liked in the draft quite a bit. Maybe they would ask for more but I don’t think I’m miles off the mark here.
