This is a fun thought experiment in some ways, but I don't see any way Seattle trades two starting pitchers in the same deal

I could see it enge0280 only if the Mariners signed Blake Snell (as it has been reported he REALLY wants to pitch for his hometown Seattle Mariners). However, as I thought about it from a Mariners viewpoint, I'm trading pitching to get a BIG bat. Brooks Lee is a highly valued SS/2B/3B switch hitting prospect for the Twins, but he just reached AAA last year in his first full minor league season. He could make the twins out of spring training. But if I'm Seattle, I'm trading a young SP to the Padres for Juan Soto. THAT'S the impact bat for the Mariners, even if it's just a one-year rental and they can't sign Soto to an extension. Soto hitting 3rd in their lineup and Snell, Castillo, Kirby, Gilbert, R. Ray and Miller (assuming they traded Bryan Woo) with Marco Gonzales wondering where he fits into the rotation. Seattle is just loaded with SP.

As a Twins fan, this would be exciting. It would hurt to lose Brooks, but this kind of return is what they would want if they were trading Lee away. I just don't see it happening is all.
