I feel that Clase is over evaluated because his peripherals are trending downward, but Bieber (if healthy) is a little under evaluated. McGeary is a masher but if Cubs get Hoskins in FA, which they should do NOW, then he rusts in the minors. Alcantara and Morel fit Cleveland's needs to a tee. Not sure how Guardians can say no to this. Waiting to hear from SC and BB why.

You're outside of your mind if you think Cleveland will undersell Bieber and Clase that much. Also, Cleveland doesn't need 2 OFers unless they are going to immediately upgrade both corners and move Kwan to CF or deal him(I think they should). Morel would be a good get for Cleveland, but they'll need a quality, ready, young SP in return. This deal isn't a good one from Cleveland's perspective. Your essentially degrading 2 positions to improve 1. Cleveland sure as hell doesn't need McGeary.

Sure Benjo, Cleveland is going to undersell a star controllable closer on an affordable contract. This won't do it. Benjo, what is important is how the Guardians value Clase. He will not be traded unless overwhelmed and this package is tremendously underwhelming.

Benjo

They will trade him, and they won't get a better hitter (Morel) or prospect (Alcantara) in the deal. Clase is showing too much differentiation between his sinker and slider, and hitters can identify the pitches, which is why the "star" closer couldn't strike out a batter per inning last year. Bieber's arm is falling off. This is an early Xmas present to my friends in Ohio.

Just stop with this bullshit. Even if Clase wasn't as good last season as he was in 22 he is still one of the absolute best closers in MLB. His contract is ridiculously team friendly and he hasn't lost any velo or spin. He could easily pitch as well or better in 24 as he did in 22. Bieber's arm is fine and you just don't know what you're talking about.

Benjo

No bullshit. Twelve blown saves (led the league) don't happen by accident. Clase could be new Kimbrel. Throws hard, gets hammered. Cubs either get Clase and sign Chapman to play third. Or sign Hader and stick Morel at third. Bieber lost velo and didn't get it back after his return from injury. I know exactly what I'm talking about. BB, stop living in denial.

Cleveland led all of MLB in 1 run games therefore Clase had more 1 run appearances. Who had the most saves in the league? "Gets hammered" LOL! You can take this shitty deal down the road. The value is right in front of your face so I think it is you who is in denial.
