Not sure what the status of Franco is. Don't know don't care. His salary and Swanson's cancel out. 6 more years of Dansby seems like a fair exchange for 11 seasons of the others, + $89.3 additional salary. Diaz, Fairbanks, Siri and Glasnow at an average @18 mil per season per player.

Franco should be flagged as untradeable right now, because the Rays aren't trading him before the investigation is completed. Once it is completed, then who knows. Rays may opt to move him even if he's cleared of all allegations, and if he's charged/convicted of a crime, then I hope there are contractual protections so they don't have to pay him.

There is a morality clause in these contracts. If he is found guilty, it will void it out. On the other hand, why would the Cubs try to move Swanson after one season? Even if he didn't have a No-trade, it would tell FA to stay away from the Cubs. His wife plays soccer there.

I constantly hear about a morality clause, compliance with laws clause, or ability to terminate the contract for Cause, but none of us have seen the contract. We don't actually know what it says or whether the Rays have an out.

FA stay away . . . you mean like Ohtani? I don't care if Swanson's wife play QB for the Bears. It's an imaginary trade. Cubs gave Addison Russell a second chance. Maybe they could replace Swanson with Russell, until verdict is in on Franco.
