Theres no way the M's would take that deal. Now if it was Randy and Yandy for Gilbert, Speier, and a 5-10 ranked prospect I think that would get it done.

Seems like Gilbert to the Rays is a popular trade. What's not to like from the Mariners' standpoint? Gilbert has enough trade value to return 1-2 top position players and fill specific holes on the Mariners' team. Gilbert is not sooo much better than Woo and Miller (and probably Brash) that his arm can't be replaced internally. Hell, it can be argued that the only thing differentiating him from the others is that he has shown the ability to pitch nearly 200 IP in a season. The only problem is that the Rays typically trade for cheap players and then unlock their value. It's pretty hard for me to see the Rays trading for Gilbert, no matter who is in the trade package. So this is a solid downvote for me.
