3Really like the idea of Reds grabbing Sheehan and eating the negative surplus of Chris Taylor. Taylor could help bolster the Reds OF for the next two year while Sheehan has top of rotation stuff written all of him. Not a fan of giving up CES though as he looks to be a .290 hitter with 35+ homers and 100+ RBI potential for the next several years. Reds really don't have another players like him in the bigs.
Cleveland isn't doing this. You're removing one of their better SP and their elite closer and getting no pitching in return. At the same time you're giving them 3 guys that will have to compete with each other and 3-4 others in Cleveland's system. Easy no from Cleveland and they aren't sending Clase to the Dodgers without getting Sheehan in return. Now, if you can rearrange this deal so that Cleveland is getting Sheehan and CES then that would be something to consider. Actually, I'd prefer Steer to CES.
The concern I have, is that Sheehan, is a lot like what have now. No real experience. Tons of potential. What the Reds need is a proven starter, not just to start, but provide some leadership to the younger guys.
