3Moderate overpay by Cubs to entice the Guardians to let go of Naylor. This would give the Guardians three cheap, big league pieces with 15 total years of control.
Teams are asking about Naylor, but I doubt that Cleveland is shopping him since they need to add offense. A journeyman outfielder and a lesser 1B prospect than the one that Cleveland already has in Kyle Manzardo will not convince the Guardians to trade Naylor.
Tauchman getting dumped is a Cub fan's dream. Cleveland isn't that stupid. Naylor isn't going anywhere unless you want to dramatically overpay and why should any team do that? Everyone wants what Cleveland has, but wants to get it cheaply as if Cleveland owes them a favor.
