1This idea probably belongs in the Alt-History section. Oakland's payroll is $21 MM below 2023's Opening Day mark so Fisher would have to feel outside pressure to spend back to that level. The team isn't going to attract big ticket free agents because... of many, many reasons. SF moves on from Conforto's contract to spend elsewhere. Chapman? Montgomery? Schmitt's bat needs more time and the A's can afford to be patient. It's International Signing day so I'm having the Giants kick in $250,000 to close the deal.
