This isn't a bad deal for Cleveland but I don't think Cleveland is looking for only one high end prospect for Clase

KRock_6

Agreed, I guess saving salary and freeing up a 40 man spot is the additional selling point in this scenario.

Defense is PCA's calling card. Cleveland needs offense and pop. Potential good player, but is his bat enough to help? I doubt Cleveland would put all their eggs in one basket.

Defense is his calling card but there's a lot of potential in the bat as well at only 21. 20 HRs between AA and AAA last year, .283 avg. I see it as a way to not lose any defense replacing Straw and gaining a lot of offensive upside. Not to mention saving $, which is always important for CLE.

BigBat

Yeah, there's plenty of power in PCA's bat and he's a GG caliber CFer. I think Cleveland would seriously consider this deal, but how it would work is the question. Cleveland will keep a path cleared for DeLauter. Brito is reportedly getting OF reps. There is Valera and Rodriguez in Columbus. The just picked up Florial. They already have all of Kwan, Brennan and Laureano. I kinda like the idea of PCA for Clase, but figuring out how the pieces fit is the problem for me.
