Mr. Dodger

This is a perfect 3 team trade. I hope that this trade becomes real.

Cleveland would say no... Donovan isn't worth 25 to Cleveland...

temporary account

This is far from a perfect trade for the Guardians and they likely decline. Cleveland needs to add a Power OF bat in any Clase trade preferably a right-handed hitter. Neither Vargas or Donovan have a great deal of experience in the outfield and neither have been a power bat.

Mr. Dodger

Doesn't Cleveland already have enough outfielders?

temporary account

Steven Kwan, Myles Straw, Will Brennan, and Ramon Laureano are their most experienced outfielders on their 40-man roster. Do they have enough outfielders in your opinion? They currently have 11 infielders on their 40-man roster. You tell me now if Cleveland needs are met by this proposal.

Swap Miguel Vargas for Andy Pages and perhaps this makes more sense.

Cleveland would want Vargas and Pages plus a couple SP prospects back like Stone and Knack if it was straight the Dodgers in a Clase deal... TA, rightly so I may add, does look at experience in certain positions when looking at players. We need OF batting help not fielding help... Right now Cleveland doesn't have their starting OF set so they want guys who can add the missing hitting elements (Aka power) to the lineup from the OF... Vargas will hit more HRs as he matures and Pages already we all know has power... Both batters make sense for Cleveland in what they need. They will move the excess players for other prospects or combind for a different type of veteran, maybe even a closer to replace Clase...

How is this perfect for Cleveland? The Dodgers are not getting Clase and Bieber without sending Sheehan along with Vargas and another piece or two. Cleveland won't have any interest in Donovan and they certainly won't sacrifice that much value to acquire another LHH with all of Kwan, Brennan, both Naylors, Gimenez, Florial, DeLauter and Valera either on the roster or close to being on it. If you want Clase then be prepared to part with something that makes you cringe a bit and makes Cleveland better now and over the next few years.
