2I like the chances of one or both of Burrows-Jones becoming better than Singer.
Jones has all the potential in the world, but I don't trust the Pirates to develop him into a good starter. I think most teams could, but we don't do well with those types. That being said, if this deal could get done with Luis Ortiz or QP in his place, then I'd probably prefer it. Burrows would be sad to give up, but you've gotta give talent to receive talent, and we don't really know how good he's gonna look post-TJ. Bae gives them arguably more upside than Massey as a LH option at 2B, and of our third tier of solid but young pitching prospects, I'm the least attached to Barco. We desperately need reliable innings this year, and even though Singer's results have ranged from excellent to pretty bad, he's probably our #2 until Skenes comes up, and has shown ability to be durable. I also think Waters could be fun in CF and KC has a lot of outfielders vying for playing time.
