1This is a hard no from the Rays. Baz might be a better pitcher than Sandoval in 2024, even under the IP restrictions he will be subject. Even if Baz isn’t the better pitcher this year, his upside is TOR and the Rays will have him for 4 years after 2024 (and after playing games with his service time this year). Rays aren’t giving that up (plus their 23 first rounder) for a middle rotation starter.
