Hurtubise and Dunn are older as prospects but they had a great 23 season, so the return that way is smart and Aguiar looks like a guy driveline would love to get their hands on in a sense. I think Cleveland wanted a bit more impact back from the Bieber deal, but this one, I could see some rolling of the dice on. I feel like this isn't a deal they make alone though personally since this won't help in 24...
The Reds are not adding Bieber's $13MM+ salary to their payroll. Any trade would include India ($3.7 MM) and Sims ($2.8MM) to offset half of Bieber's contract. Also I doubt the Reds would part ways with Blake Dunn in this deal. He might be older, but a right-handed hitting center fielder with speed and power is just too good a fit not to try at some point.
Good comment, thanks. Yes, I thought about adding in some cash to the Reds. I think both Ohio teams suffer from lack of real ownership commitment, which is a shame since both could be, and should be more competitive.
Clearly nobody wants India and if there is much interest in him. There certainly won't be by the Guardians. There could be some cash to cover a portion of Bieber's remaining salary.
