62 separate trades shown as one deal. Twins wouldn't trade Kepler and Castro without getting a CF in return. Brewers improve their MLB roster flexibility and keep the 40-man at 40. Marlins get a power hitter with options, an improved OF and an underrated SP in AA/AAA.
Brewers aren’t going to be looking for 20yo OF as primary pieces in any deal this offseason. If Wiemer is traded it will be for MLB ready pitching, or MLB ready IF.
Castro racked up 2.5 WAR in 409 PA. Excellent baserunner and plus defender at 2B/SS/3B last season. Can play CF if needed. He's under control until 2026.
Castro is a solid player but he is not a plus defender at SS/2B. If he plays elsewhere, his bat is only slightly above average in comparison to COF/CIF. He may be apart of a deal for Wiemer, but you’d have to add some pitching
We all have our opinions. Castro brought $20 million in field value and $18M surplus value last year. But if you believe the Brewers can do better in return for Weimer, a fine fielder who is projected to be a below average hitter next year, have at it.
Considering there is not a single up-vote for this trade, I think most agree we could get more for Wiemer. He was a T100 prospect and only has 1 year of experience. Shows power and speed potential
