This is just an idea... Mariners want more hitting... Freeman and Triolo can both hit and play their best positions at an above average clip... (2B for Freeman and 3B foe Triolo). Pirates get pitching help plus a solid looking OF prospect for Triolo and a PTBNL (I just put in Cheng). Cleveland would get Smith and Arroyo, who are years away, but good looking prospects for Freeman and PTBNL/one of those AA/AAA arms they are deep in... I put in Burns... I feel like Mariner definitely improve plus Freeman and Triolo still have a lot of team control left... Reason why the Mariners don't take this type of deal is they are just too high on Arroyo/Smith or Farmelo

why a three way deal?.. this is two separate deals.. not contingent upon the others.. Guardians / Mariners deal.. would be fine.. I would hate to lose Freeman.. but love the idea of getting two hitters in return.

Just the start of the idea... I was hoping someone from the Mariners and the Pirates would respond to fix the deal... The main concept though is the Mariners getting Freeman and Triolo and Pirates getting Hancock...

Mariners don't need these guys now they have Polanco. Urias/ Rojas at 3rd. Moore and Haggarty as utility players. They need a RH OF. Before the Polanco trade I could see them entertaining this idea. Mainly Triolo though

Freeman is actually a very good hitter and a better defender at 2B than Polanco... He just doesn't hit for raw power, but gap to gap... Triolo had a solid 50ish games last season and he can really defend at 3B... The Cleveland group didn't actually like the return for Freeman...
