4Cleveland fans didn't like their return in this trade (https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trades/163248), but I'm curious how Mariner fans feel about the Rays/Mariners side of the trade.
M's don't have the starting pitching depth to trade Woo without bringing back a solid ready to go starting pitcher. Plus Mead doesn't really have a position to play. If the M's didn't sign Garver and trade for Haniger they could of used him in the DH plus spot starts at 1B, 2nd and 3rd but that's not worth Woo.
Yeah if Snell were signed then the M's would possibly be open to trading a pitcher. There will be a bit of innings limit on Woo, maybe around 135 to 150 this year so I don't see the Mariners getting full value for him this year. If M's had signed Snell before they traded for Polanco then I'd be pretty stoked to get Mead for 2nd base but I'm not sure the timing is right. The Mariners top two prospects Colt and Cole are both likely to move off SS long term with Emerson to 3rd and Young to 2nd. Young will likely be MLB ready at the tail end of this season so the need for Mead might not be so great next season. Can Mead play 1st base that might be the greatest need in the future depending on how Ty France does this year. By the way MP2891 you are my favorite poster on this site. Knowledgeable and respectful.

I understand your concerns with Mead in the field, but I think he'll be fine at 2B and can fake it at 3B. What will hold him back at 3B is arm strength, not range or fielding ability. As for that SP you say the Mariners need, how about Snell?
