An outfielder that strikes out way too much, another unneeded middle infielder, and to top it off, an injured reliever expected to be out to at least summer. Sorry, Yankee fans, this offer is offer is easily rejected.

Yankees don't have the right mix of players to get Clase...

Why? What do the Guardians need other than everything?

First off, Guardians have 1B, 2B, 3B and LF pretty much set... All of those guys would start on every MLB club pretty much and IF their rotation is healthy, they have a top 5 rotation... They have top 100 prospects competing for SS and they have a top 100 prospect taking over C... So those positions will be 100% internal, no external for them... The position that will be in question is the final OF spot... Cleveland and New York have different drafting philosophies and honestly, Cleveland wins that battle... Pereira doesn't fit the type of player Cleveland would draft nor trade for... They don't need Schmidt at all and Effross is coming off of Injury... This deal doesn't make any sense...

Good ol' Yankee fans.

What do you expect? The Yankees should not even have to trade with middle and small market teams. They should be AAAAA and AAAA affiliates of large market teams.

There it is. The big market arrogance. Keep your garbage.

YUP! Maybe if you left the farm and took a trip to the big city, you might see what civilization is really like.

Yet, the Guardians over the last decade, easily have more wins than your Yankees... Division has a part yes, but coaching, drafting, scouting etc have been superior in Cleveland...The only reason why the Yankees even compete is their budget...

Yankees were 25 games better than the Indians/Guardians over the last decade, playing in toughest division in MLB, while the Indians/Guardians have played in the weakest division. Nice try, though. Of course the Yankees have a bigger budget. Why shouldn't they? They make a lot of money on everything from TV to tickets to concessions to who knows what. Would you rather that they pocket as much as possible like all of these billionaires who own teams in middle and small markets and don't spend the revenue sharing money that they collect from the large market teams? They are the ultimate welfare cheats. https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/yankees-record-last-10-seasons https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/indians-record-last-10-seasons https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/guardians-record-last-2-seasons

And yet, with your great financial advantage, the Yankees have not made the world series since 2009. Cashman is a joke as a GM.

I will take Cashman over whomever is running Cleveland’s next fire sale. If anyone is to blame for Yankees not going to the World Series over the last decade, it is Shallow Pockets Hall. If George was still alive, the Yankees would have signed Bellinger and Snell and extended Soto.

Since the start of 2013, Cleveland has the 4th highest winning percentage in MLB and did that on their small market budget. Put the teams on equal financial footing like is done in the NFL and Cleveland's front office would have buried Cashman. Cashman and the Yankees have had all of the advantages and what do they have to show with that, not a damn thing.

They have that high winning percentage, because they are mostly playing teams from similarly small markets except for the White Sox, which has the cheapest ownership in MLB. The worst thing that the NFL ever did was revenue sharing. Before revenue sharing, you ahead a few dominant teams like the Cowboys, 49ers, Steelers, Raiders, and Giants and the game was much more entertaining than it is today when all you have is mediocrity and parity. What MLB has to do is reorganize so that all of the large market teams are in the American League and all of the middle and small market teams are in the National League. The American League can have a payroll floor and no luxury tax or payroll cap and the National League can have a payroll floor and cap. You might be very happy living in the middle of nowhere, but the rest of us in the civilized world should not have baseball teams whose management has to put together teams with both hands tied behind their backs. It makes no sense.

The NFL is the most popular sport now because every team can compete if operated efficently. MLB is failing to keep up with the NFL due to their archaic funding rules. It will continue to get worse as the TV issues mount for the sport. The NFL is king and baseball is slowly dying. How successful would baseball be contracted to half the teams in only certain regions of the country? Not very!

BigBat

The Yankees organization is garbage and so is their fanbase. Made obvious by your arrogant posts. I've been to the "big city" and it's a steamy pile and headed in the wrong direction. NY city is the chocolate starfish of the U.S.
