Cleveland does not have a need at a corner infield spot. Cleveland's top two offense players play the corner infield positions. I don't see them having any interest in trading Chase Delauter when outfield is such a huge need. Small market teams don't usually trade their top pitching prospects.

Well originally I was trying to come up for a deal for Arozarena but I just couldn't come up with a good matchup, I switched up to Diaz cause he's definitely the better and more consistent hitter who's a 1B/DH hitter only unfortunately, he would improve the lineup much better than Arozarena would and it would allow them to move Naylor or Manzardo for an outfielder too, Diaz is one of the best hitters in the league on a very cheap contract so it takes higher ranking guys to get guys like that.

I am not against trading for Yandy Diaz... The problem is, Cleveland will not trade DeLauter for anyone and its extremely unlikely they would trade Espino as well... Cleveland doesn't have anyone that makes sense to trade for Diaz since anyone worth the price of Diaz, they aren't willing to trade...

Love the return for the Rays, but I agree with TA that Diaz probably isn’t a great fit for Cleveland.

CCMosley

No not the best fit I agree but he does bring 2 things Cleveland needs in offense and cost control, we know he'll continue to hit and how much he'll cost so a 5 WAR for an average of like $10M a year seems really good, unfortunately we need to move him cause we just got a final notice from the power company on the front door of the Trop lol

Cleveland has had the least productive OF in MLB and you want to trade their best, near ready OF prospect for another 1B? It's not hard to find out what teams need. Did you know that Cleveland just traded for a guy to share 1B/DH duties? He's looking pretty good too. Yeah, you and the rest of the league wish they could get their hands on Espino, but it's not going to happen.

CCMosley

Oh wait I can look up needs of other teams? Dang I guess the Dodgers should have done that when they picked up more outfielders and DH's since they already had some, what idiots they are, TB has a ton of middle infielders but they picked up some more, they must be stupid too. Pretty sure Diaz would be a really good addition to Cleveland's lineup and if you're referring to Manzardo then I like him a lot but after last year not sure how much I would invest in him developing into a premier bat. Espino is a good young pitcher but we are not talking about a Top 10 prospect as he barely made the top 100 on here. The reason why it would take them to make a trade is after the top 4 spots the Cleveland farm system isn't very good and you don't trade a hitter like Diaz or Arozarena for quantity or depth pieces, to get impact players you have to give to get back.

Delauter AND Espino??? FOR YANDY DIAZ????

CCMosley

Yea you remember Diaz the guy Cleveland traded away for another guy who was a can't miss outfielder, I'm not a numbers guy but I believe Diaz had a 5.2 WAR last year, Jose Ramirez had a 5.1, Diaz would probably be best as the DH but can play 1B and fake a handful of games at 3B so Naylor can play 1B but having Diaz and Ramirez in the same lineup seems like a large offensive upgrade. It would hurt to lose DeLauter but the idea is to get offense and win games and over the next 2-3 seasons I'd rather bet on Diaz contributing more offense especially since he's only making like $30M over that time frame. Also the Rays were willing to trade Manzardo for Civale so that might tell you they didn't have faith in him developing like they didn't have in Bauer, not saying its a perfect trade, buy a cost controlled premier bat would help them sooner than a recovering TJS pitcher and an outfielder that comes with a questionable swing.
