3I'd do this trade, but I doubt Kinney would need to be included. The White Sox clearly don't value Kopech, and they definitely don't know how to bring out his best. I looked at his numbers last year around the deadline and he was pitching like a solid #3 when limited to 2X TTO. Of course, the White Sox asked him to do more than that and ran his numbers up (performance down). I guess he had some injuries after the Deadline and sort of pooped the bed to end the year. No matter, the Rays would turn him into a solid #3 with a 2-3 WAR result. RFO - Go get Kopech!!!
See I think you would still have to overpay somewhat to get him, which I'm okay with cause he still has another year of control and I think he's only making $3M in '24, I saw they were moving him back to the bullpen again which means he'll just be wasted there, I'd really like to see what TB could do with him.
Me too. I think he can still be a stud. He just needs to get out of Chicago.
